i felt a tinge of annoyance and doubt when someone uttered these words:
Ipoh roxx!
Tis’ odd but true. Hearing a fellow Ipoh-ian saying that, I should be rejoicing. Be in the seventh heaven with the like mindedness we have but nay, I don’t agree with him. Nevertheless, I gave him a high five.
Ipoh, in my opinion, does not rock. Ipoh is still, calm and cannot possibly…rox. The word “rox” cannot be associated with Ipoh or rather, Ipoh should not be placed in the same sentence with the word “rox”. It cannot, should not and will never.
The place that “rox” is London, not Ipoh.
Ipoh is a quiet kampung, how can it ROX?!!
Fret not. I am not turning my nose upon Ipoh nor am I being sarcastic. Being a true Ipoh girl and real, I’m honest. So young and yet so true, to quote Cordelia of King Lear.
The quaint old town of Ipoh is a kampung in comparison with those metropolitan hubs. It does not rock.
Therefore, I raised an eyebrow when he said Ipoh roxx.
Ipoh does NOT rock.
A milder word will do better…like “nice”.
Ipoh is nice. Now that’s more like it.

Ipoh doesnt rox – this i agree. Ipoh is nice – no argument. But a kampung, no la. Nevertheless, most importantly, ipoh is the place i can call home.
